Experience: 6 - 9 years

Major Work Area: Construction, Assembly, Erection, Fabrication, Shopwork, Repair

Area of Specialization: Boiler installation, Boiler tube installation, Pressure vessels, Tanks, Stacks, towers and furnaces

Type of Establishment/Work Setting Experience: Boiler fabrication shop

Welding Techniques: Shielded metal ARC welding (SMAW)

Welding Positions: Flat, Horizontal

Specific Skills: Plan sequence of operation, Develop templates, Lay out patterns, Lay out plate, sheet steel and other heavy metal and mark lines, Set up and operate heavy-metal working machines to cut and shape metal into parts, Fit and weld parts together, Erect and install boilers and heavy-metal products according to specifications, Direct activities of hoist or crane operators during installation, Fit plate or sheet steel work, Perform informal inspections of completed welds, Erect and dismantle scaffolds and other platforms
